The story of Andria’s Seafood Restaurant and Market began in 1974.

Michael J. Wagner owned and operated Seafood Specialties, a wholesale seafood processor and distributor out of Santa Barbara, CA.
Originally solely an abalone processing plant, Seafood Specialties diversified its production and by 1977, processed and distributed all sorts of local and imported fish and shellfish.

The first Andria’s Seafood was a fish market on Haley St. in Santa Barbara; it was named after Michael’s daughter.  During this time, Michael designed the Ventura Fisheries Commerce Building in the Ventura Harbor, and upon completion, Andria’s Seafood Restaurant and Market opened in Ventura Harbor on May 13, 1982 as a fish market with ”some cooking.”

The lease still reads that way, although the market has now been moved next door.  Both the fish markets and the restaurant were guaranteed the freshest seafood available from Seafood Specialties.

While the first fish market (on Haley Street) and Seafood Specialties have now long since closed, Andria’s Seafood Restaurant and Market in Ventura Harbor Village has maintained relationships with many local fishermen and other seafood processors and continues its tradition of buying the freshest seafood available. Andria, the namesake, joined the family business in 1999.

We are blessed to have been named best Seafood in Ventura County by the readers of the VC Reporter for the last 25 years and by the readers of the Ventura County Star for the last 10 years – the duration of both contests.  We look forward to serving Ventura residents and visitors for many years to come.
